Security Meeting: Imo Ezes Stage Walk Out ON CP
… Accuse Him Of Humiliation
Traditional Rulers of Imo state had on Saturday 31st October accused the Imo state commissioner of police, Isaac Akinwode of humilating the traditional Institution in Imo as well as the Traditional Rulers themselves.
This is even as they vowed not to attend security meeting of any sort at the police officers mess which they described as Berr parlour and not befitting for Royal Fathers rather made it clear that CP henceforth should either visit them in their palaces for any security meeting or at the a t the Imo Royal Fathers council at Mbari for any security meeting.
Imo Traditional Rulers took this decision following alleged delay by the CP who invited them for a security meeting in line with the NENDSARS protest last Saturday by 10am only to see them by noon.
Recall that Imo Traditional Rulers were embittered and picked offense with Okorocha’s Government when the former Governor was always pulling them out of their palaces for meetings which he always kept them waiting for hours beyond the scheduled times.
Traditional Rulers who are gradually putting behind them that suffering meted on them by the said Okorocha’s Government were furious when the CP almost reminded them of that bitter experience even when the CP apologized and attributed the said delay to officers who according to him did not inform him that the Ezes were already seated waiting for him for hours.
However it was a show of shame and rain of Insults by Imo Monarchs, Saturday 31st October 2020 as the traditional Rulers waited endlessly for CP Issac Akinwode at Police officers’ Mess Owerri.
One of the traditional Rulers, HRH Eze George Eke who could not hold his anger told the CP that it was an insult to ask Royal Fathers of Igbo Communities to wait endlessly at Police officer Beer Parlour leaving their Volatile Villages only to wait for him for more than Three hours pointing out that such amounts to great insults on their Integrity and that of Igbo nation. The traditional ruler of Ishi Ubomiri was not alone as another young and Vibrant Royal father blew his top when the Commissioner of Police Came into the Premises, with humble appearance appealing for his demeanor, alleging that his officers did not inform him that the Eze’s were seated. Eze Nnamdi Ali of Obinoha told the CP to his face that in Yoruba Kingdom, no Oba or even Emir in the North would have Patience more than an hour waiting for Olive chief when his Palace is the right lace for any Meeting. He accused the CP of being insensitive to the traditional right and respect of Ndieze. In his Words ” asking Eze Imo to stand on the Sun, for him to Plead for his gross and abuse of Customs and Tradition of the Ndi_Eze can attract revolt from Igbo Youths. His Royal Majesty Eze Sam Agunwa Ohiri was almost dragged out from standing outside with CP who Pleaded for Leniency added more fire to the rage.
Speaking to some PGs and Youth Leaders, Hon Emma Obinwanne Ejiofor of Awo Mbieri ancient Kingdom, who bared his mind saying that the Scene was an embarrassment by the IMO CP leading the Massive abandonment of the Place by Ndieze for Police authorities. Another Leader from Okigwe, Engr. Emma Onyeiwu from Eziama Isiala Mbano almost spoke like Uzoma Akuta, Youth President of Ubaheze Awo Mbieri who described the conduct of Imo CP with his men as unbecoming. They insisted that respect must be accorded to Ndieze henceforth. Meanwhile, Police authorities of Imo state Command were fine-tuning their approach for more Police Community relations following the outcome of EndSARS protests.
