…to kick off campaign tomorrow Monday 23rd November, 2020 starting with Onuimo Local government.
The winner of the Okigwe APC Senate Primaries, and the APC candidate in the forthcoming Okigwe Senate Bye-election, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, today returned to Imo State ahead of the December 5, 2020 Okigwe Senate Bye-election.
Araraume was received at the Chief Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, by his teaming supporters from all over the state, who came to show solidarity and support for him, as well as express their desire to see him in the Red Chambers.
Araraume’s return, is believed to be the beginning of his campaign across the zone, ahead of the Bye-election.
Other candidates of other political parties contesting the seat, had all started their campaign, and even Frank Ibezim, the sacked APC candidate imposed on the party by Senator Hope Uzodinma and Emeka Nwajiuba, had commenced some form of campaign, before the court kicked him out and declared Araraume as the rightful winner of the primaries.
Araraume have been enjoying growing support from stakeholders in the state, and in Okigwe Zone, such as the former Govenror Rochas Okorocha as well as fellow former aspirant, Ms. Chidinma Uwajumogu.
The Uzodinma backed Marcon Nlemigbo faction however, have shown signs to undermining the APC’s chances of winning the Bye-election, as there are indications that they are in talks with the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA candidate, Charles Onyirimba to fight Araraume in the polls.
Araraume’s arrival today, is believed to be sending shock waves across other parties as well as the Uzodinma faction.
