Sen. Onyewuchi Fetes PDP Football Organizers, Assures Support

The only PDP Imo Senator at the National Assembly, Sen. EZENWA ONYEWUCHI Sunday hosted the members of the State Organizing Committee (SOC) of the “Imo PDP Youth Football Championship 2020”, where he assured them of his supports and other leaders with him at the National Assembly.

The Senator who was billed to perform the kick-off ceremony earlier in November when the championship kick started, but was unavoidably absent, said his meeting with the Organizers Sunday at his Orji home was his own way of showing his tacit and direct endorsement of the championship, which he said had brought life into the PDP even as a party in opposition in Imo State.

While commending the Organizers for the bold Initiative, Sen. Onyewuchi who was in company of Engr. Uche Onyejesi; a PDP leader from Ideato North, assured that he with other leaders would see to it that the championship is backed and supported with a reward system as a way of encouraging it.

In his contribution, Engr. Onyejesi thanked the State Youth Leader with members of the SOC for the vision, while advising them to generate strategies to ensure the sustainability of the championship.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation and State Youth Leader of the PDP in Imo, Greg Nwadike GOC, told the leaders the visions behind the initiative, while requesting the Senator to help mobilize other leaders to their support.

He specifically requested that they be supported in raising funds for redemption of trophies and awards as a way of motivating future participations.

It would be recalled that the Imo PDP Youth Football Championship; a maiden edition introduced by the office of the State Youth Leader has been ongoing in a LGAs in the state with a total of 54 matches appearing in the fixtures of the preliminary stage.

The team later had breakfast and photo session with the Senator.
