Breaking: Appeal Court sacks Araraume, revalidate Ibezim’s candidacy

The Appeal Court have today Friday December 4th 2020, quashed the earlier judgment of the Federal High Court in favour of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, and reinstated Mr. Frank Ibezim as the authentic candidate of the APC for the Okigwe Senate Bye-election.

Ibezim had been declared winner of the Okigwe APC Senate Primaries, by the Hope Uzodinma backed Marcon Nlemigbo faction of the party, but was sacked by the Federal High Court, which declared that Senator Ifeanyi Araraume was the authentic candidate of the party.

Ibezim had headed to the Court of Appeal, which delivered judgement today in his favor, as the election is set to hold tomorrow.

The victory at the Appeal Court, goes to fulfil a promise Uzodinma made to Ibezim’s supporters, claiming that Araraume’s Court Victory was premature.

Araraume is expected to head to the Supreme Court following the outcome of the appeal court.
