Imo APC Crisis: Okorocha Loses Battle TO Uzodinma As Abuja Picks Nlemigbo

Protracted struggle over who controls the sole of the APC in Imo appears to have laid to rest as the National Leadership of the APC had over the weekend, sworn Nlemigbo in as the caretaker committee chairman of the APC in Imo.

Daniel Nwafor had after the constitution of the caretaker committee in Imo with Nlemigbo as the chairman, dragged Nlemigbo and his members to court, where he prayed amongst others for court to return and recognise him as the authentic state chairman of the party having not served out his tenure as the elected state chairman of the APC in Imo.

However, both the federal High court and Appeal court gave judgements in favour of Nwafor as the authentic chairman of the party in Imo.

Although, the duo courts recognised Nwafor as the chairman but at the national, Apc was recognising Nlemigbo as the state chairman in Imo as well as Uzodinma’s led administration.

While former Governor Rochas Okorocha recognises Nwafor as the state chairman, Uzodinma was working with Nlemigbo, an act which has led to series of confusion in Imo as the party members were confused over whom to take instructions from.

During the just-concluded Imo north bye-election, both Nwafor and Nlemigbo were discharging duties as state chairmen, an act which caused confusion amongst senatorial Aspirants then.

However, in a bid to bring an end, this leadership tussle in both Imo and other states ahead of 2023, the APC NEC a week ago, announced the dissolution of all the party structures across the nation with a view of constituting a caretaker committee to man the affairs of the party for another six months.

In line with the foregoing, Nlemigbo was appointed and finally, was sworn in as the caretaker chairman in Imo.

This development in view of political pundits implies that the former Governor of Imo state, senator Rochas Okorocha has to an extent lost the leadership of the party to Governor Hope Uzodinma.
