Owelle Rochas Okorocha to run for Nigeria President come 2023. The group gave the call on Saturday 19th December 2020, in Owerri while officially unveiling their support/movement for the Imo state serving senator.

Addressing News Men shortly after the event, the national coordinator RPMG Mr Uba John Onyewuchi posited that the mandate given to Rochas by the group to run for President was not steered up by political sentiments nor greed but on the basis that Owelle Rochas Okorocha from his antecedents possesses the political clout to pilot the affairs of the country. Ubá added that when Rochas ruled as the governor of Imo, the dividends of democracy was very much evident in the state as various sectors was carefully and prudently managed to the growth and development of the State.

Speaking further he stated “ Judging from his political scorecard over the years, there is no doubt Owelle fits in as the best candidate from the Igbo extraction to run for President come 2023. His wealth of experience in politics speaks volume of his capacity and I Can say categorically, speaking the minds of majority that Owelle is the man to fill the lacuna missing in Nigeria political system and as well transform the Nation from her sorry state of despondency to a much anticipated better state the masses long for”.

That’s why we have assembled under the umbrella of RPMG to urge his excellency Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha to run for President of the country as we pray and know that success will surely prevail on his presidential aspirations if obliged” he stated. The group however donated a whooping sum of 20 million Naira and other gifts from the women wing to support his presidential aspirations. They also called on political parties and the Federal government to put an end to the long-existing Igbo marginalization as they maintained that a south Easterner should be given a meritorious ground to run for President come 2023.

The group which has its structures across the 27 local government of Imo state as well other states in southeast and South-South however called on every citizen of the country to subscribe to the vision of change as the quest to restore sanity to the decayed political system in Nigeria shouldn’t be far fetched, stressing that Owelle Rochas Okorocha should be the visionary mandate.
