Did Hope Uzodinma play into Rochas Okorocha’s hands by attacking and arresting him?
Political observers and pundits, who know the former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, are of the view, that Okorocha planned to be attacked by agents of the Hope Uzodinma administration.
Don P Nwachukwu, an Orlu Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, and a strong supporter of Senator Rochas Okorocha, believes that Okorocha deliberately went to the sealed Royal Spring Palm Hotels, to draw out Uzodinma, and make the Imo govenror show his hand.
Chief Nwachukwu stated that Okorocha did not go there with his full squad, neither did he go with his main convoy, but went with vehicles he wouldn’t be disturbed if they were destroyed, as they eventually were destroyed by the thugs allegedly loyal to Senator Hope Uzodinma, who stormed the place, allegedly at the orders of Uzodinma’s SA on Special Duties Mr. Chinasa Nwaneri.
“Remember what happened when Jasper Ndubaku tried this same gimmick during the time of Ihedioha,” Nwachukwu stated. “He met thugs that brutalised him at Okorocha’s House. Uzodinma does not have monopoly for violence. If Okorocha didn’t plan to be attacked and arrested, to look like the victim and paint Hope Uzodinma as the aggressor.
“Chinasa Nwaneri made a big mistake laying his hand on Okorocha. That was a slap to this country, that an aide to a governor will be harassing a Senator. Which means every Senator is not safe again, and there must be consequences for that action.
“You can see the high powered intervention from Abuja and across the country, condemning the attack and calling for Okorocha’s immediate release, as well as the release of his aides who were arrested alongside him.
“If you ask me, I think Hope Uzodinma just played into Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s hands. Ihedioha used number 6, he applied restraint when his Chief recovery officer, Jasper Ndubuaku, was attacked by Owelle’s supporters. Imagine if Owelle had come Royal Spring Palm with the people that dealt with Ndubuaku, it would have been an all out war and Chinasa and his boys would have been the ones running for cover.
“This matter is just getting started. Uzodinma has shown his hand, and if you ask me, he didn’t get it right at all. He has probably played into Okorocha’s hands. The main drama is about to start. Everybody just sit back and watch as it unfolds.”
Okorocha yesterday stormed the premise of the Royal Spring Palm Hotels, which was sealed by operatives of the Imo State government.
He would be resisted by thugs, allegedly loyal to Senator Hope Uzodinma, and subsequently arrested and taken to the state police headquarters.
According to reports available to MaaziTV, Okorocha would most likely be arraigned today by the police.
He and his associates were released following intervention from from the Presidency, the Senate leadership, the Sultan of Sokoto and eleven governors.
