2. Santander Edge Student Current Account
In contrast to other banks, Santander provides every student with a complete £1,500 overdraft during the first three years.
To access this overdraft, you must deposit a minimum of £500 into your account every four months, typically from your maintenance loan.
When you open your account, you’ll start with a £250 interest-free overdraft, which will gradually increase to £1,500 within your first year. If your course extends beyond that, you can qualify for up to £2,000 by the fifth year.

4. Nationwide FlexStudent Account
Nationwide Flexstudent offers interest-free overdraft that can help student do everything they want to do at the university. You can apply for an interest-free arranged overdraft of up to £1,000 in your first year, up to £2,000 in your second year and up to £3,000 in your third year. You’ll need to pay in at least £500 each term, keep up with any bill payments and stay within your arranged overdraft limit. After you graduate, you’ll still have your overdraft – we’ll just ask you to slowly pay it back over time.
5. HSBC Student Bank Account
We offer an interest-free arranged overdraft of up to £1,000 when you open this account.You can ask for an increase of up to £2,000 in year 2 and £3,000 in year 3, subject to status and how your account has been used.
