Eligibility to apply for Foursquare National Scholarship 2025 for Nigerian Students

Financial Need

  • Candidates must demonstrate financial hardship with verifiable evidence of an inability to afford educational costs.

Institutional Eligibility

  • Only students enrolled in federal or state universities, polytechnics, or other accredited higher institutions are eligible.
  • Secondary school applicants must be attending a state-owned institution.
  • Students of McPherson University are also eligible.

Academic Qualifications

For Undergraduate Applicants:

  • Must have secured admission into a recognized federal or state tertiary institution.
  • Students in their second year (200 level) and above must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (Second Class Upper Division) and present an officially certified academic transcript.

For Secondary School Applicants:

  • Only students in senior secondary school (SS1–SS3) can apply.
  • A minimum cumulative score of 80% in the previous academic year is required.

Scholarship Renewal Criteria

  • Undergraduate beneficiaries must sustain a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5 (second class upper division) to retain the scholarship.
  • Secondary school recipients must achieve at least a 70% cumulative score to continue receiving funding.

Age Limit

  • Undergraduate applicants must be no older than 27 years.
  • Secondary school applicants must be no older than 20 years.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Foursquare National Scholarship Award

Instructions:

  • Eligible candidates must take a standardized aptitude assessment conducted by an external organization and achieve a minimum score of 75%.
  • Applicants who pass the written examination will proceed to a verbal interview with an independent panel, whose decisions are conclusive.
  • A verification process may be carried out to confirm the authenticity of applicant information and submitted documents.
  • Only selected recipients will receive official notification of their scholarship awards.
